This Restomod Will Certainly Spark Conversation Among Both The Corvette And Exotic Crowd

American Legends Builds Deception Corvette LP560 Lamborghini Gallardo V10 Swap

Let’s Flashback to 2018 when the Arizona-based American Legends Hotrods and Musclecars mated the beautiful bodywork of a 1968 Ford Mustang with a Ferrari F430 twin-turbocharged motor. The vehicle stole the spotlight at SEMA 2018 and was called the “Corruptt” Mustang. This set the tone for what we’re about to tell you next, as the shop aims to marry a 1964 C2 Corvette with the engine of a Lamborghini Gallardo V10 engine. It’s name? “Deception.”

Details On The Deception Corvette Build

According to the Corvette Forum, the Deception build is already underway, and it seems there’s quite a substantial amount of work that needs to happen to see the renderings brought to life. To start, the custom car began as a 1964 C2 Corvette, which the shop got their hands on for $28,000.

Next, the vehicle’s frame was swapped out with a Roadster Shop chassis, a necessity due to the severe rust problems on the original structure. From there, the front-end chrome bumper is ditched in favor of a carbon-fiber splitter. The car will also get flush-mounted glass which comes courtesy of Fesler USA, also based in Arizona.

Digital artist Karan Adivi designed the American Legends Deception Corvette to blend modern Lamborghini looks with a Split Window C2 Corvette. Most of the bodywork will be replaced with widebody panels from Corvette Dynamics. A dual-tip exhaust that sticks out of a carbon fiber diffuser can be seen at the vehicle’s rear. Under the hood of the Deception Corvette sits a 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 5.2L V10 that will feature a bronze finish which will work in tandem with the color scheme of the rims. In addition, the intake manifolds from a 2019 Lamborghini Huracán Performante will be bolted on backward to ensure that the engine fits into the bay.

While the finished product is only visible through the renderings, we can get a pretty good idea of how slick the Deception Corvette will end up being, given its mix of classic design mixed with the future. You can follow along with the build on the company’s official YouTube channel American Legends Builds.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
