During the SEMA Show in 2016, Chevrolet reached out to another iconic Michigan-based brand to create a special pickup truck concept based on the Silverado HD at that time. That brand was none other than Carhartt, which has been headquartered in nearby Dearborn since 1889, producing the popular workwear found on jobsites (and hip coffee shops) today. The resulting Chevrolet Carhartt concept truck was widely regarded as a great idea, as the two brands share quite a few customers and branding ideals. It appears that this public support was enough for General Motors to move forward with the project, as the new 2021 Chevrolet Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition has just been unveiled on the eve of the 2019 SEMA Show.
The new special edition package is slated to be available on the Silverado 2500 HD LTZ crew cab model. The trucks will all be fitted with the Z71 off-road package, which includes beefy twin-tube Rancho shocks, 20-inch wheels wrapped in All Terrain tires, Hill Descent Control and added skid plates for undercarriage protection.
The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition will exclusively wear Mosaic Black Metallic exterior paint, with a complimentary Carhartt gold pinstripe detailing the truck’s flanks. Carhartt badging will also be featured on the doors and tailgate, as well as on the soft rollup tonneau cover which is embossed with the Carhartt logo. The Carhartt Special Edition will further differentiate itself from other Chevy trucks with black hood vents, a chrome grille surround with chrome inserts, body-color front and rear bumpers, tow hooks and a tailgate bowtie logo.
Inside the truck you’ll find a Carhartt-themed interior, which includes exclusive two-tone Jet Black and Carhartt Brown leather-appointed seats with unique stitching and Carhartt embroidered headrests. All-weather floor liners with the Carhartt badge also adorn the footwells of this very Detroit truck.
The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition is the first model that details the strategic partnership the two brands formed back in July of this year. At that time, Chevrolet announced that Carhartt would become the official workwear of the Chevy Trucks brand, securing their spot as the official truck partner of Carhartt.
The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition is on display at the 2019 SEMA Show, with salable models hitting Chevrolet dealership floors in fall 2020.

I sure as hell love it but damn will be disappointed if they dont release this package in the 3500 series. Chevy and Carhartt did it right! But dont leave us long heavy haulers out of the picture!
