Back in 2014, Dodge shocked the world with the 707 hp Challenger SRT Hellcat. Madness, it seemed, that anyone with around $60,000 could walk into a Dodge dealership and buy a production street legal vehicle with that much power. Since then, Dodge continued to up the ante, announcing the Hellcat Widebody, the 840 hp almighty and limited-run Demon, and the 797 hp Hellcat Redeye. And now, just five years after the original Hellcat went on sale in 2015, Dodge has given us a series production Challenger with 100 hp more. Welcome, everyone, to the 807 hp Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock. Plain and simple, it will be the quickest and most powerful muscle car in the world when it begins production early next year.
Building upon the already crazy Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye (not the Demon), the Dodge Challenger Super Stock is built purely to terrorize the drag strip. Although it has basically the same engine as the Redeye, SRT has fettled with the internals to give it an extra 10 hp.
The biggest difference, though, are the wheels and tires. Wheels are downsized to 18 inches to fit super-sticky 315/40R18 Nitto NT05R drag radials all around – the same tires that were fitted onto the Dodge Demon – where more sidewall means better launches. In fact, the wheel and tire setup is the only way to tell the Super Stock from the Redeye, as Dodge wanted relatively stealthy appearance.

What all of this means is that the 2021 Dodge Challenger Super Stock will go 0-60 mph in just 3.25 seconds, and cross the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds at 131 mph, making it the fastest muscle car on the market, stealing the title from the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Remember, that’s 807 hp going through only the rear wheels. Dodge says they achieved this performance through the drag tires, Challenger Super Stock-specific Bilstein dampers, and clever electronics.
The Dodge Challenger Super Stock borrows the Demon’s trick Launch Assist system, which is in addition to Launch Control. After Launch Control holds the rpm at a set level, Launch Assist monitors wheel slip and controls power and torque sent to the rear axle to minimize wheel hop. This results in faster launches, with less damage to the drivetrain. Before the drag race, you can heat up the rear tires with Line Lock, which holds the front brakes for maximum burnout.
While driving, the Super Stock has SRT’s excellent Performance Pages and four driving modes (auto, sport, track and custom). After a drag race, four piston Brembo brakes slow you down, and Race Cooldown and SRT Power Chiller help cool the 6.2 liter supercharged V8.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock, which gets 13 exterior and 5 interior colors, will be available to order this summer, with production slated for this fall. Again folks, this isn’t a limited model. 2020 is the year of the 807 hp muscle car anyone can buy with enough money.
