2021 Ford Bronco Plant Gets Extended Shutdown
According to a CNBC report, Ford Motor Company will add two weeks of downtime starting May 17 at its Michigan Assembly plant. This is the sole facility where the US and Canadian Ford Ranger midsize pickup is built, as well as what will be the 2021 Ford Bronco.
According to Ford’s communications team, the extended shutdown won’t impact the automaker’s plan to begin delivering 2021 Bronco 2-Door and 4-Door SUVs to dealers and customers. However, it’s likely that select packages and content on some orders may be set back. According to the Bronco6G forum, some customers are seeing their 2021 Ford Bronco builds being pushed back as much as three weeks. However, the timeframe remains in within Ford’s summertime promise.
Adding To The List Of Bronco Delays
Previous reports have indicated that Ford has been forced to punt some 2021 Bronco content to the 2022 model year due to supplier issues. This includes the Sasquatch Package with a manual transmission, as well as the black modular hard top. The 2021 Ford Bronco Sasquatch Package with the 10-speed automatic, as well as colorized hard tops are still on schedule.
Other than Michigan Assembly, Ford said it was adding shutdowns during that two-week timeframe at the Ford Explorer plant in Chicago, the Ford Mustang plant in Flat Rock, Michigan and the Ford Super Duty plant in Kansas City, Missouri.
