The 2021 GMC Yukon XL is coming soon, but before you can buy one at your local dealership, GMC has launched their online configurator so prospective customers can visualize their ideal SUV. Or, you can just waste some time designing your behemoth people mover.
The 2021 GMC Yukon XL has a far simpler trim level system to it’s Chevrolet Suburban counterpart, with only the SLT and Denali on offer. For this new model, GMC has further pushed the Denali model upmarket with altered styling and a totally different interior. If you want to read about that model, check it out here. Absent from the visualizer is the off-road focused AT4 model, although it should be added at some point.
For the SLT model, four-wheel-drive adds $3,000. From here, you can select one of nine exterior colors, with all but one being additional cost. As for the interior, you can get either black or “dark walnut and slate” interior colors for the same price. The Yukon XL also offers a wide range of 8 wheels with a variety of finishes.
There are two main packages for the SLT Yukon XL. First is the $2,030 SLT Luxury package, which adds power and heated second row seating, power folding third row, cameras, and more. The $3,695 SLT Luxury Plus adds everything of the Luxury pack, plus a panoramic sunroof and trailering package. The trailering packs are also available as a standalone package.
For the ultimate sub-division family hauler, there’s the $2,490 rear seat media and nav package to keep the kids entertained, and the illumination package to add an illuminated front badge for the parents to show off their new rig with.
Add it all up, and you can crack $70,000 for a non-Denali Yukon XL. Overall, the new model’s independent rear suspension, exterior and interior styling updates, and newer tech make it a great option in the full size SUV segment. It is also priced similarly to the Chevrolet Suburban, so buyers can decide based on brand and styling preferences.
The long wheelbase Yukon XL will not be available until a later date as compared to the short wheelbase Yukon models. The 2021 GMC Yukon SLT XL carries a base price of $61,795.
