The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is the ultimate expression of GM’s muscle car, aimed at dominating everything on a track day. Packing the C7 Corvette Z06’s 650 horsepower supercharged LT4 engine and a host of aerodynamic upgrades, the Camaro ZL1 1LE is capable of outperforming more expensive equipment. But in the age of 760 horsepower Mustangs, the ZL1 1LE is lagging a bit behind in the power department. That is where this hypercar-rivaling example from Blackdog Performance Cars comes in with their special “ZL11” package.
Located outside of Chicago, Blackdog Performance Cars build and sell all sorts of vintage and modern metal bent on going fast. This 2018 Camaro ZL11 1LE is currently up for offer on eBay, and has undergone some extensive modifications. The team at Blackdog started by tearing the V8’s 1.7L Eaton R1740 TVS supercharger off and replacing it with a set of twin Hellion turbochargers. To support the added boost, they’ve also added a Procharger Intake, Weapon X fuel injection, a Monster clutch, and some other bits from Holley Performance.
With 16 PSI running through the motor, Blackdog was able to make 815 horsepower and 806 lb-ft of torque at the wheels on 93 octane fuel. While those are impressive figures in their own right, things get really crazy when the E55 fuel gets loaded in. With boost cranked up to 23 PSI, this Camaro ZL1 1LE lays down 1,111 rear wheel horsepower and 1,006 wheel torques. That means this thing is making in the neighborhood of 1,300 horsepower at the crank, which is more than a Bugatti Veyron. Pretty impressive when you consider the motor is running the stock camshaft, heads, throttle body, and exhaust system.
This Blackdog Camaro ZL11 is currently being offered with a price tag of $91,000, which isn’t exactly cheap. However, the odds of you getting into another twin-turbo Camaro ZL1 1LE with this type of performance for less money aren’t great. The car is also basically brand new, with only 901 miles on the odometer. Blackdog Performance Cars have built one crazy Camaro, which now has twice the horsepower it had when it left the factory.
