We are sure that there are many of you out there that would love to get your hands on a low-mileage example of a 2020 C8 Corvette. The cost of entry to a new model aside, Chevy has had a tremendously hard time getting C8’s to customers all year. So then the opportunity to snatch up a lightly used car in desirable Torch Red is rather alluring. Thanks to the team over at Copart, that can soon be a reality for one lucky buyer. There’s just one slight problem.
You see, the 2020 C8 Corvette in question has a *little* bit of damage. As CorvetteBlogger reports, this particular car, VIN 2344, took a rather large spill off of a dealership lift in Jacksonville, Florida. A victim of technicians not using the factory jack points, the rear-weight biased Corvette came crashing down off the lift ass-first. As the images on CoPart website show, the C8 is in rather poor shape as it currently sits.

The online auction service lists the vehicle in running and driving condition, but we aren’t so sure if we believe that statement. The car may turn over, but the A/C condenser in the frunk should frighten anyone away from hitting the road. Shockingly, the company also has the value of the smashed and bashed C8 Corvette listed at $58,000. We understand that it’s hard to get your hands on one of these mid-engined sports cars, but that seems a bit out of place.
The damage done to this particular C8 Corvette doesn’t look like it’s beyond repair, but it certainly won’t be a cheap fix. It’s more likely that someone will buy the car to strip it for parts, as other owners begin to need replacement parts. That said, we hope the buyer has something special planned for that LT2 V8 engine and its accompanying DCT. C8 Corvette Dune Buggy anyone?
