CAMARO ZL1 OWNED BY JEFF GORDON BEING RAFFLED OFF FOR CHARITY

Only 10,000 Tickets Will Be Allocated

Camaro ZL1

Jeff Gordon has lived an incredible racing career. The four-time Nascar Cup Series champion has 797 consecutive career starts to his name between 1992-2015, and even has a Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona win thanks to a 2017 victory with Wayne Taylor Racing. The California-born driver was also the first NASCAR driver to surpass $100 million in career winnings. But with his success, Gordon has also been known to give back though the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation. The non-profit raises nearly $1 million for pediatric cancer research every year. To help raise money this time around, Jeff Gordon will be auctioning off his own personal 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 convertible.

The Ashen Grey metallic drop top muscle car is the first time that Gordon has donated a Camaro for raffle, and we don’t think he could have picked a better one.

The 5th generation Camaro ZL1 was the top dog at the time it was produced, in no small part a result of the magnificent 6.2L supercharged LSA V8 engine under the hood. Thanks to some help from a 1.9L roots-style blower, the 6.2L V8 produces 580 horsepower and 556 lb.-ft of torque. That power was routed through either a six-speed manual, or a beefed up Hydra-Matic 6L90 automatic found in this particular car. That allowed the ZL1 to go from 0-60 mph in just four seconds, before running the 1/4 mile in 11.93 seconds. That might not be NASCAR fast, but it’s surely enough to make you think you’re driving one. The 184 mph top speed probably won’t hurt either.

Other performance modifications fit to the ZL1 include a racing-style splitter up front, shaped rocker panels, and a rear spoiler that contributes approximately 150 pounds of downforce at 150 mph. The Camaro ZL1 also features Magnetic Ride Control, which help this supercharged beast put all that power down effectively.

There will be 10,000 raffle tickets available for sale on the charities website, where you should head to check out more details about the charity raffle. Prices start at $100 for a single entry, while all federal taxes will be paid for the winner. The timeline for the contestants to purchase a raffle ticket is between Friday, November 1, 2019, and ends on Friday, January 31, 2020.
