When it comes to American racing teams, none have had the same sort of success as Corvette Racing. Ever since the C5.R made its debut in 1999, the Corvette has been feared by every manufacturer and privateering team that has had to go up against it. That’s for good reason of course, as the team has managed to take home over 100 IMSA victories since the dawn of the century. Eight of those wins were at Le Mans by the way, which is something no other American team can claim. Now though, Chevrolet Corvette fans have a chance to learn from some of Corvette Racing’s most successful drivers thanks to the National Corvette Museum. This June, a limited number of applicants will have a chance to take on NCM Motorsports Park at the museum’s Performance Track Day Event of a lifetime.
This event at NCM Motorsports Park is hosted by none other than racing legends Darren Law and Johnny O’Connell, and will give enthusiasts the chance to learn from other past and present Corvette Racing drivers such as Jordan Taylor, Jan Magnussen, and Andy Pilgrim. You may have heard of them before.
Registered drivers will have a chance to get on track with these Corvette Racing icons, who will work with the various groups broken down by skill level and experience. Then you’ll get a chance to have a proper debriefing by yet another set of coaches, who will help to drive home the learnings of the day. Unlike previous Performance Track Day events held by Law and O’Connell, interested parties will be able to sign-up for either one or two days of on-track fun. Certainly not a bad way to learn the ins-and-outs of pushing your Chevrolet Corvette hard.

NCM Motorsports Park is no joke of a circuit either. The east and west courses of the circuit can be configured in a variety of ways, and feature loads of corners inspired by the Circuit de la Sarthe. If anyone can teach you how to navigate these tricky sections, it’s the Corvette Racing team. Furthermore, the event is more than just a driving adventure. On the evening of the first day, participants can register to attend a dinner and cocktail hour hosted by former Corvette Racing Program Manager Doug Fehan. Better yet, you don’t even have to sign up for the on-track experience to take part in this dining event. Not that you won’t want to, however.
The event will take place on June 19-20, 2021 at NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green. Registration for the event is open now, which you can find at the link provided here. Each day of the track experience will run you $700, while the dinner event is $100. There are two choices of meals for you to choose from however, which is a nice touch. To be quite frank, we aren’t sure that there is a better way for a Chevrolet Corvette fan to spend $1,500.
Besides, how many normal people can say that they’ve been on track with Jordan Taylor, Jan Magnussen, or Andy Pilgrim?
