Last month, the Ford Bronco Build and Price configurator was launched, giving order holders and fans alike a chance to spec and visualize their ideal Bronco. It shows all the possible trims, exterior and interior colors, options and packages. Still, one headline aspect of the Ford Bronco was obviously missing: the massive array of official accessories. Soon, however, it appears that will change. During a SEMA Q&A session, they learned the Bronco’s configurator will be updated with accessories available on the new SUV.
Ford Bronco Marketing Manager Esteban Plaza-Jennings said the updates, coming early next year, and will in fact have every single accessory Ford plans to offer. Currently, only some of them appear.
“We promise the customers who are really chomping at the bit to place their orders early next year is every dealer-orderable accessory will be up and you will know about those, so that you can check the box when you place the order with your dealer,” said Plaza-Jennings.
This is hugely helpful to Bronco customers who plan to order their Bronco from the factory with accessories. Seeing the full list and deciding what they’d like to purchase right when they order will streamline the ordering process, so they don’t have to order accessories from the dealer after delivery. But unfortunately, it sounds like there may be a catch in that statement from Ford.
The answer only says customers will be able to “check the box” when selecting accessories for the Bronco, hinting that not all of them will actually show up on the vehicle. This is currently the case, as only some of the accessories currently listed in the configurator show up on the vehicle. Ideally, we’d like to see all of them, but this functionality is likely missing due to the sheer number of anticipated accessories. Ford says the Bronco will get over 200 accessories.
No matter how the Ford Bronco accessories are implemented into the updated configurator, it’ll still give customers a better idea of pricing and what they’d like to add to their order.
