If you haven’t heard, Flat Out Autos is working on building a GMC Jimmy, and it’s quite an exciting vehicle that will undoubtedly be fun to own. The vehicle will be officially unveiled at SEMA and will go into production in January. But that doesn’t mean we won’t be stuck with the same rendering until the event in November. Oscar Vargas on Instagram posted some additional renderings and a picture of the first truck build in progress.
Flat Out Autos also posted on their Instagram and stated that all bodywork and mechanicals had been completed. They will now begin working on fabricating the removable rear shell. It’ll be exciting to see if future owners of this build will do something similar to what we can see in these more recent renderings, although it may be a bit more challenging to remove the rear shell if a roof rack is on it but nothing is impossible.

Fat Out Autos GMC Jimmy Build: Pricing And Production
The GMC Jimmy Build will be based on the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado platform. It will also be offered in Heavy Duty with a Duramax engine. The two-door conversion truck will only see around 8-10 units produced for 2022, but if there is still high demand, Flat Out Autos plans on increasing production for 2023. Of course, a custom-built vehicle such as the GMC Jimmy will cost $120,000 USD. But the price for the 2-door conversion will include the new donor 2022 Sierra or Silverado.
Flat Out Autos won’t modify the vehicles’ software; instead, they adapt the cars to incorporate all of the existing sensors and safety features, so none of the modern features people have come to love about newer vehicles will be lost from the conversion. Additionally, customers can opt to have some options equipped to their GMC Jimmy builds, including lifts and an optional supercharger for the 5.3-liter V8 engine, because it doesn’t ever hurt to have more power.
