Jeep has been very busy over the past few weeks teasing us all with some new products. First we got some images of the Bronco-besting Wrangler 392 concept, then a series of teasers related to the upcoming Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer models. However, the off-roading company isn’t done yet, as they have just released another new teaser video for the upcoming Jeep Wrangler 4xe Hybrid.
Jeep has made their commitment to electrification known, as the company has stated that they are striving to become the greenest SUV brand on the market. The Wrangler 4xe Hybrid is their latest step towards achieving this goal. While this new teaser video titled “So Quiet” doesn’t give us any new information about the battery-assisted SUV, it does show off its full-electric driving capabilities. Rumors have suggested that the 4xe will arrive with around 30 miles of full-EV range, which puts it inline with the other 4xe products on offer in Europe.
We also now know that the Jeep Wrangler 4xe will receive unique blue tow hooks and badging in Rubicon spec, as demonstrated in the clip. The hybrid powertrain is expected to be available across the Jeep lineup. At this time it is rumored that the SUV will use the 2.0L turbo-four with the company’s eTorque system, though FCA has yet to make a comment on any of this speculation.
While the Jeep Wrangler 4xe would be right at home alongside the official debut of the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer on September 3, FCA says that full details on upcoming Ford-Bronco-fighting hybrid SUV will be shared come December 2020.
It appears that Jeep is going all in to once again assert their dominance atop the off-roading segment. The Ford Bronco may be here to take on the gasoline-powered Wranglers here in the states, but we also know it’s not a global product. This hybrid system could help Jeep continue to offer their legendary 4×4 in stricter countries for some time to come.
