The Ford F-150 Lightning can power your house in the event of a power outage for 3-10 days, but how far can it take you and your family on your annual summer road trip on a single charge? Newly discovered dealer window stickers for the all-electric pick-up truck may tell the story.

It’s important to note that “miles per gallon” is not the metric used here, “miles per gallon equivalent” or MPGe is the new benchmark when referring to the overall range in the electric vehicle market. That being said, the breakdown for the F-150 – originally from F150Gen14 – can be seen below for the F-150 Lightning Base, Base Extended Range, and Platinum models. There have not been any XLT or Lariat trim findings as of yet.

Combined MPGe
Base – 68
Base Extended Range – 70
Platinum – 66

City MPGe
Base – 76
Base Extended Range – 78
Platinum – 73

Highway MPGe
Base – 61
Base Extended Range – 63
Platinum – 60

Range:
Base – 230 miles
Base Extended Range – 320 miles
Platinum – 300 miles

There is only two MPGe difference in all three MPGe categories between the Base and Extended Range which on the surface seems troubling however comparing each trims overall total driving range you can tell a clear difference. These numbers are whats advertised on the window and can’t be taken literally until some real world testing takes place like that of whats going on in Alaska where the F-150 Lightning’s are currently being torture tested for weather resistance. These numbers are in line with other all-electric pick-up trucks the Rivian R1T for example manages a combined, city and highway MPGe rating of 70, 74, and 66 respectively and an estimated range of about 314 miles based on your specific configuration. The F-150 Lightning does come in relatively cheaper than the R1T however. The R1T starts at $67,500 while the Lightning starts out at $39,974. You can build and price both the R1T and the Lightning, now.
