The new Ford Mustang reveal is just a day away, but if you live in the Detroit area, you might be a little jaded. Because even though the seventh-generation muscle car is set for a huge debut in Hart Plaza on September 14th, southeast Michiganders may have already seen this thing on the road once or twice.
The most recent sighting came at a local cars and coffee event in Northville Michigan, just 30-minutes from Detroit, where the S650 Mustang will be unveiled in dramatic fashion. The walk around videos posted on social media showcase the interior, and exterior shape of the new Mustang, as well as provide a glimpse of the engine sound.
The S650 Mustang has been described by Ford themselves as the next evolutionary step in design as opposed to a complete redo of the vehicle, which has been in production since 1964. The videos, posted by DtRockstar1 and Sinister Coyote 5.0 on YouTube of the camouflage and covered S650 Mustang reveal that Ford is in fact sticking to its formula better than we expected as the seventh generation pony car maintains the long hood and short deck. A look that has become a calling card of the Mustang body design over the years.
Despite the up-close teaser, it’s really hard to get the details, as the camo cladding of the new Ford Mustang is keeping the side and rear design a mystery, despite a frontal leak of what’s expected to be the genuine design of the 2024 Mustang GT. Various teasers have also confirmed the existence of a V8 engine, if you know what you’re listening to, as well as the return of the GT Performance Package, a push-button start, and more.
You can watch the reveal of the seventh generation S650 Ford Mustang in its entirety, online today at 8 p.m. Eastern, here.
