SEMA 2021 FORD PROJECT VEHICLE APPLICATIONS OPEN: HERE COME THE BRONCO BUILDS

Builders, Get Your Ideas Rolling

2021 has only just begun, but Ford has already opened up its applications for their 2021 featured SEMA Show builds, allowing the aftermarket to get their creative juices flowing for next November’s show. Here are the basics on requirements and how to apply for the chance to be featured as a Ford SEMA Show build this November. With the Bronco coming as the most important Ford launch next year, we expect many of these SEMA applications to be for the exciting new SUV.

Aftermarket manufacturers that enter must actively promote their project vehicle, support new product development, have an established marketing plan, and be financially capable of all of these things. Essentially, this application is aimed at established aftermarket companies who can represent themselves and the Ford brand in a specific booth.

More specific criteria includes using Ford Accessory products when specified, which are provided by Ford. Ford is really leaning into its accessory lineup on the Bronco, so its SEMA builds will likely see blend of Ford and aftermarket mods when it’s inevitably featured this November. The Ford logo must also be intact and visible at the SEMA Show, and builders must agree to display the vehicle when Ford requests. Finally, Ford will hold an 18 month contract requiring quarterly status updates of things like modifications, events, media exposure and product development.

Applicants must write a one page project summary and send it to Ford, which includes:

  • Vehicle/theme
  • Vehicle modifications
  • New product development
  • Promotional plan
  • Vehicle display location at the 2021 SEMA Show

We look forward to all the vehicles at this year’s 2021 SEMA Show in November, which will hopefully go back to in-person admission if current vaccine projections hold true. Expect Ford builds to heavily feature the Bronco and Bronco Sport, plus the new 2021 F-150 (including the Tremor and Raptor models), Mustang and Mustang Mach-E.
