SPEEDKORE TEASES A CARBON FIBER FORD MUSTANG GT350

Their Take On A “Dark Horse”

Ford has revealed the S650 Ford Mustang and the performance-oriented Dark Horse that’s expected to produce at least 500 horsepower. SpeedKore Performance has decided to tease their interpretation of a carbon-clad Dark Horse, though this one is modeled after the S550 Mustang Shelby GT350. Still, a very cool name for a legendary car.

SpeedKore Carbon Fiber Mustang GT350: Details

The SpeedKore Carbon Fiber Mustang GT350 body is redone with carbon fiber, increasing performance as the weight is reduced considerably. Red accent badging can be found throughout, along with a recovery hook, just in case. In addition, black racing stripes with red accents along both sides trail down the center of the car to give more contrast to the overall black coloring of the ‘Dark Horse.’ The vehicle also features a unique carbon fiber spoiler that adds to the aggressive appeal of the car and makes it look quite elegant.

If SpeedKore does put together a Carbon Fiber Mustang GT350, it will have to be based on the S550 generation, as Ford likely won’t bring the track-focused muscle car back for the new generation. A group of GT350 owners who banded together against Ford has stated that the performance car was subject to overheating issues after track use. Ford advertised the GT350 as “track-ready.” However, the lawsuit alleges the carmaker removed the coolers from lower trims which take away from the track-readiness.

In addition, the high-revving 5.2L “Voodoo” flat-plane V8 engine was put on the shelf when Ford brought about the mighty Mach 1. It’s a sound that we’ll always cherish and a sound we’ll miss. Yet, this very engine has created tension and even caused fires due to vibration wiggling the oil filter free. But that hasn’t stopped SpeedKore from piecing together this evil-looking carbon fiber Mustang GT350 teaser. And, of course, the GT350 will live on in Mustang fans’ hearts as the ultimate track version of the iconic muscle car, even if it’s replaced by the Dark Horse, which still sounds quite remarkable and brings a smile to our faces.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
