The 24 Hours of Le Mans has come and gone for the 2024 year, and while we won’t get to see the legendary race for another 360 days, Cadillac has decided to release two special edition Blackwings to honor the occasion. Dubbed the CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre and CT4-V Blackwing Petit Petaud, both cars pay tribute to Cadillac’s racing heritage and the race with custom design touches, colors, and limited badging. Did we mention that these will also be extremely rare? With just 101 examples of the CT5-V and only 50 of the CT4-V.
Cadillac CT5-V and CT4-V Blackwing Le Mans Edition: Details
Starting with the CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre was inspired by the 1950 Cadillac Le Monstre race car. The exterior of this very special CT5-V Blackwing is finished in a custom Magnus Metal Frost paint with Stormhawk Blue carbon fiber accents, which is quite the eye-catching combination. Inside, the car is dawned with blue accents and a heritage number “2” etched into the seatbacks. The door sill plates are also custom and with the same heritage number design. Those who get the opportunity to gaze upon the interior of one of these ultra-rare Cadillac CT5-V Blackwings will find the phrases “Le Monstre” and “75 Years” etched into various places of the interior. Finally, the car uses the factory-supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, which produces an outstanding 668 horsepower.
Last but not least is the CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud, inspired by Cadillac’s 1950 Le Mans debut and named after the Series 61 race car with the same name. This slightly less powerful car features the same Magnus Metal Front paint with Stormhawk Blue carbon fiber accents as the CT5-V but with the heritage number “3” adorned on a black leather interior instead. As for power, the CT4-V Blackwing features a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 472 horsepower.
As of right now, Cadillac doesn’t have any pricing listed for these two unique trims, but they likely won’t be cheap as the starting price for the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwings is a pretty penny, but well worth it considering these are some spectacular luxury sports cars designed for thrill and comfort.
Along with the commemorative Le Mans packages, Cadillac has recently introduced a new package for the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing dubbed the Precision Package. This is a more track-focused chassis package for the legendary sports car, set to enhance the vehicle’s dynamic behavior on all road and track conditions. This isn’t just something Cadillac threw some aerodynamic bits on the body and called it a day, but instead, something that has been meticulously engineered to improve path precision and increase corner speeds.
2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Precision Package: Details
Of course, the luxury and refinement that define the Cadillac brand won’t be sacrificed with these implementations, which include:
- Increased spring rates, more prominent front stabilizer bar, and revised suspension bushings
- New front steering knuckles and rear suspension toe links allow for more aggressive wheel alignment for track usage
- Recalibrated subsystems: MagneRide dampers, steering, chassis controls, and Electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD)
- Carbon ceramic brake package.
These Precision Package enhancements will contribute to improved steering precision into the corner apex, increased stability on corner exit, and more road feel for spirited driving situations. All of which will create an ever greater driving experience. The 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Precision Package was designed to set records on some of the most challenging tracks in the world. For a four-door sedan, at least. Overall, it sounds like an exquisite edition to the legendary sports car, especially for those who don’t just purchase the vehicle for those fun accelerations off the line at a stop light, and that’s it, but actually take their cars to the tracks.
If you didn’t know, the CT5-V Blackwing gets an update for the 2025 model year with a bolder appearance, more tech, and colors, but the same great power remains on tap for drivers to enjoy. That is, the 6.2L Supercharged V8 that produced 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. As for the Precision Package, production will begin in early 2025, with additional details and pricing set to be announced at some point in the future.
