If you’re in the market to purchase a VIN 001 of any car, it’s not entirely impossible. These vehicles generally make their way to auction, where live bidding takes place, and the highest bid takes home the desirable first production vehicle. During the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, the first production 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor managed to sell for an impressive $350,000, all of which is heading to charitable causes.

Ford Bronco Raptor VIN 001 Sale Funds Two Charities

Ford has a history of putting the first release vehicles to auction to raise funds for charity, and in the case of the Bronco Raptor, two charities will be splitting the total proceeds. National Forest Foundation and Outward Bound. The National Forest Foundation leads forest conservation and promotes responsible recreation. Responsible recreation helps keep off-road trails open for people to explore, which is vital for new Ford Bronco owners. Unfortunately, the off-road community hasn’t always had the best image, and reckless abandonment of nature while exploring can quickly lead to the closure of local trails.

The other charity taking support from the hammer price is Outward Bound USA, the leading provider of outdoor education programs aimed at young people. The group strives to explore personal potential and cultivate a passion for learning and discovering greater success through the use of the outdoors. Both of these charities fit in perfectly for the sale as the Ford Bronco is geared towards the off-road market and the Raptor suffix makes this one the apex predator of the trails.

Equipped with the most chart-topping specs of any American off-road performance SUV, the Bronco Raptor comes equipped with a 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine that pushes over 400 horsepower, while long-travel Fox shocks, a fully-boxed frame, and 37-inch tires from the F-150 Raptor.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
