DODGE CHALLENGER WITH 1100 HORSEPOWER HITS THE DYNO: VIDEO

Petty’s Garage Is Putting Its Power Ratings To The Test

Just because MAHLE’s “Drive with the Original” program has passed its October 1st deadline doesn’t mean we aren’t still drooling over the grand prize 1,100 horsepower Dodge Challenger built by Petty’s Garage. The King’s team packed this muscle car full of go-fast parts, and now we’ve found a clip of how good it sounds on the dyno.

The MAHLE team has been documenting the build of the Dodge Challenger on their YouTube channel, including the construction of its blown 426 Hemi V8. MAHLE made sure to have Petty’s Garage fit the motor with some of their own performance parts, including pistons made from 2618 alloy, MAHLE gaskets, and a set of MAHLE oil, air, and fuel filters. The big bump in power comes courtesy of a forced induction system from Procharger, while the engine has also been fitted with Kooks long tube headers and a custom Magnaflow dual cat back exhaust system. Hearing this car rip on the dyno confirms that the exhaust is much louder than any Challenger you could buy from the showroom, and quite a bit angrier. Add to that the fact that this car also packs a six-speed manual transmission, and there’s truly not much more you could ask for.

Visual modifications done by the Petty’s Garage team include a 1-inch lowering kit, a Petty’s Garage race-inspired spoiler, and custom Forgeline three-piece wheels wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact tires. Blue painted stripes cover the white car’s sides, which really give it an old school muscle car look. Inside sits a set of custom MAHLE and Petty’s Garage embroidered leather seats provided by Katzkin.

Despite the entry period being over, MAHLE will soon select four finalists at random to receive a trip for two to the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas from November 5-7. The lucky winner will receive the keys to their new 1,100 horsepower Dodge Challenger muscle car from the King himself, Richard Petty.
