RINGBROTHERS 1961 ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER CLOUD II IMPROVES ON A CLASSIC

At Its Core, Is A Corvette Engine

The 2023 SEMA Show just happened, and Ringbrothers brought some spectacular creations to the stage for another year. From the ‘Tusk,’ a Hellephant-powered 1969 Dodge Charger, to the 1965 Ford Mustang ‘Uncaged,’ we’ve gotten some spectacular throwbacks with improved performance. But their third build for this year takes a different route from the other two cars for the legendary Las Vegas show. Dubbed the “Paramount,” Ringbrothers took a 1961 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II and sought to give it new life, though with some modifications that make it something truly unique.

What Is The Ringbrothers Rolls-Royce?

The original dual-carb 6.2L V8, which produced 185 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque, was scrapped and replaced by a supercharged LT4 6.2L V8 out of a C7 Corvette Z06, which gives the car six times the amount of power it originally had. This thing could qualify as a sleeper with 640 horsepower and 635 lb-ft of torque. The engine was mated to a Bowler Tru-Street ten-speed automatic transmission, sending power to a QA1 carbon fiber driveshaft and, from there, to a Ford 9-inch rear end from Strange Engineering.

The build sheet continues. The body has been bolted to a custom Roadster Shop RideLine Stage 3 chassis with custom, 10-gauge boxed steel rails. The custom floor plan gives the interior extra room. As for the suspension, Fox RS SV six-inch coilovers thread custom control arms in the front and four-bar rear suspension. Finally, sway bars with C6 Corvette end links will help with cornering stability.

As for the design of the 1961 Rolls-Royce Paramount, Ringbrothers left the sedan’s lines untouched, with the only exterior touchup being the Ringbrothers badge on the trunk. Of course, an enthusiast would eventually notice the rolling stock, though the 18-inch EVOD Industries wheels in Falken rubber compliment the car’s historic look. That said, the wheels hide what would most certainly show this to be a modified car, where Baer Pro six-piston calipers poised to clamp against 15-inch rotors ensure the vehicle can stop with all of its glorious Corvette engine power under the hood.

As for the interior, an oversized steering wheel with knurled spokes complements ornate gauges and discrete billet switchgear. The seats and picnic tables are wrapped in crimson red leather, and the headliner features 1,000 hand-sewn LEDs, which help convey the appropriate Rolls-Royce Veneer. The red leather helps distract the audience from the carbon fiber instrument panel and door cards, but they’re certainly there. Since Rolls-Royce is a luxury brand, a custom rear armrest holds two small bottles of Don Julio tequila for the post-show party.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
