LIVERNOIS MOTORSPORTS GIVES MUSTANG SHELBY GT350 FLEXFUEL TUNE FOR MORE POWER

Offerings Gains Of Up To 50 WHP

Ford Performance Voodoo V8.

The 5.2-Liter Voodoo V8 that sits between the flanks of Ford’s Shelby Mustang GT350 and GT350R is a mechanical masterpiece. The DOHC flat-planer is unlike any other engine you can buy in a muscle car today, and it owes much of that reputation to its screaming 8,250-rpm redline. While the Shelby Mustang GT350 family may be a potent car from the factory, Metro Detroit’s own Livernois Motorsports and Engineering have just found a way to give owners 50 extra horsepower.

The Voodoo V8 is not lacking for power by any means, as the motor produces 526 horsepower 429 lb.-ft. of torque right off the showroom floor. However, in order to reach that astronomical redline figure, the motor features a 12.00:01 compression ratio. What this means for owners looking to get more power is that you quickly run into fuel limitations. Even with 93 octane gasoline, you’re going to end up leaving a lot of performance on the table. That is where Livernois Motorsports and Engineering comes in with their new E85 Flex Fuel tune.

This new tuning setup from Livernois Motorsports and Engineering allows Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R owners to use 93 octane, full E85, or any mixture of the two without the headaches involved in searching for the right pump. Because of E85’s increased detonation resistance, it is an ideal fuel type for motors running a higher compression ratio. As Livernois demonstrated with this video on their Facebook page, cars equipped with this package picked up nearly 50 wheel horsepower on their dyno when running E85.

For those who are interested in picking up a Livernois Motorsports and Engineering flex fuel tune for their own Shelby GT350R, you can head over to their website to pick up their handheld tuner before requesting the flex fuel tune. If you have access to E85 in your area, it may just be a must have.
