Price increases for all things are inevitable when they occur, and how much is often unpredictable. But as consumers, we must keep a watchful eye on prices because, ultimately, we will be the ones that have to deal with them. Recently the Ford F-150 trucks had received price increases to the MSRP of the vehicle. Now, it looks like the 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is also increasing.

The 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is getting a price increase of $4,255 for the new model year, which bumps up the total MSRP of the ultimate muscle car from $70,300 in 2021 to $74,555 for this year. That’s quite a significant bump from Ford and will likely not be a deterrent for many who want to have the Shelby GT500 in their garage ready to drive on sunny days or take to the track, pushing the vehicle to its maximum potential.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: Details

The 760 horsepower supercharged 5.2L Predator V8 found within the S550 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is one of the many components that make the GT500 one of the most ultimate muscle cars on the market. It’s certainly capable of rivaling an assortment of European coupe and super-saloons and has managed to (unofficially) lap the Nürburgring in Germany with numbers comparable to modified BMWs and 911s. Even without significant modifications to the GT500, which can significantly improve the car’s performance.

Interestingly, the crate engine for the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has also received a price increase relatively recently by about 4%, which could be one of the playing factors in the reasoning behind the 2022 Shelby GT500 seeing a price hike. However, $74,555 isn’t that bad of a price tag compared to what people over in Europe have to pay to get their hands on this muscle car. Since it’s not sold in Europe and imports are the only way anyone can obtain the Shelby GT500 cars with low mileage, they can see price tags of well over $150,000. Now that $74,555 is looking a lot more favorable, we should continue to count our blessings while we can.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
