The time has finally come for people to put their names down to get their hands on one of the epic 2025 Ford Mustang GTD supercars. However, even if you happen to be able to afford the estimated $325,000 USD starting price, you won’t be able to just walk into your local dealership and order one of these cars. Like the Ford GT that came before this super Mustang, there is an application process interested parties will have to go through to purchase one of these beasts.

2025 Ford Mustang GTD Application: Details

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD’s application starts with Ford collecting your name, address, and contact information. From there, the Automaker will inquire about your relationship with the brand. Some questions include whether you own a Ford or Lincoln, if you’re involved in the motorsports world (Forza probably doesn’t count), and if you consider yourself to be a car collector.

Suppose Ford determines that you are worthy of owning one of these monstrous Mustangs. In that case, the Automaker will ask you to provide a video -60 seconds or less- explaining why you would be a good Mustang GTD owner. Think of it as an adoption process, only you’re adopting an 800 horsepower superstang and Ford wants to be sure it will be treated fairly and not just gather dust inside your garage. Ford wants Mustang GTD owners to thrash the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine on tracks and take it along curvy roads around the country, enjoying the car for what it was made for.

Production of the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is expected to begin in North America in late 2024 or early 2025. Applications are now open for the car and will run until May 20, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EST. You can fill out the application here. Best of luck to those with their sights set on this very special car.

Written by Zac Quinn

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
