To celebrate 60 years of Ford Mustang, Shelby American has just introduced its most exciting and capable take on the iconic muscle car yet: the 2024 Shelby Super Snake. This marvelous creation was built upon one of the most highly anticipated vehicles of 2024, taken and given enough modifications to make it an extreme and beautiful creation.
2024 Ford Mustang Super Snake: Details
The 2024 Ford Mustang Super Snake is the most powerful Shelby Super Snake in history, offering over 830 horsepower with the assistance of a supercharger. Though a 480 horsepower version of the car is available, we’re not sure anyone will be interested in that when the prospect of nearly 400 more ponies under the hood is there instead. And, the 5.0L Coyote V8 engine isn’t the only thing that got modified, as the suspension has also been tuned for sharper turn-ins, and the exhaust has been modified to increase airflow. Lastly, but certainly not least, the brakes and cooling were enhanced to leverage the powertrain’s potential.
The Ford Mustang Shelby Super Snake traces its roots back to the race-bred Mark IV Ford GT that won Le Mans back in 1966. That car’s legendary engine was the inspiration for the first Shelby Super Snake, which was built as an experimental concept for high-speed testing on the track; over the years, the car evolved, and now, with the arrival of the 2024 Shelby Super Snake, which comes just in time to celebrate the Mustang’s 60th Anniversary, the legend of pure American performance continues.
Pricing for the 2024 Ford Mustang Shelby Super Snake is not yet available. However, it will be available with either a manual or automatic transmission, as well as in fastback or convertible configurations. Just 250 2024 model cars will be produced in the US, with production set to start mid-summer. Each Shelby American vehicle will be documented in the official Shelby Registry. The cars come with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, and the powertrain warranty from Ford remains intact.
