This came with the promise that S650 Mustang GT owners would have the capacity to significantly boost the output of their muscle cars via this package. Ford Performance is now listing the twin-screw supercharger kit on its website, promising to boost power output to 810 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque. However, that can end up being just 800 HP for the S650 Mustangs not equipped with active exhaust systems. The kit was developed by Whipple Superchargers in partnership with Ford Performance Engineering and costs $9,955. Yup, that’s it!
Notably, the 810 hp Ford Performance S650 Mustang supercharger kit is fully legal in 49 states—except California. Of course.
According to the product page, the part doesn’t “have approval for use in California,” and it can’t “legally be registered or used on vehicles” in the state. This is likely due to the Supercharger changing the Mustang’s emissions.
