Meet The Warlord

Apocalypse Manufacturing just released another beautifully rugged 6×6 monster, and it’s based off the 700+ horsepower Ram TRX. You might be familiar with some of Apocalypse Manufacturing’s previous three-axle projects which include the Hellfire, Sinister 6, and Doomsday. Unlike the new Apocalypse Warlord, all of the prior builds were based on Jeep Wranglers, or more recently, Jeep Gladiators. This is the first time Apocalypse has branched out of their usual Jeep domain to 6×6 convert a Ram truck. They picked the most obvious choice as their starter, and by the looks of it, they did a hell of a job.

What We Know About The Warlord

While there aren’t many technical details available yet about the Warlord, DupontRegistry was able to gather some information from the Fort Lauderdale-based company. Apocalypse Manufacturing has knowledge and expertise advantages from building over 80 Jeep-based 6×6 machines. Apocalypse engineered both a hand-crafted middle axle and custom frame using quarter-inch-thick steel to support the additional two 18-inch wheels. They also swapped the stock Ram TRX’s 35-inch tires for 37-inch all-mud-terrain tires. Because the Ram TRX already comes stock with a 702 horsepower supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8, Apocalypse didn’t have a need to swap in a different powertrain for the Warlord.

No Engine-Swap Needed

This isn’t the usual case for Apocalypse Manufacturing; their Jeep-based 6×6 builds require one of their three optional engine replacements, a 6.2-liter LS3 V-8, 3.0L Turbo Diesel, or the 6.2L Hellcat motor that’s found stock in the TRX. You’ll also notice that they added a 7th wheel that’s mounted to the extended truck bed. If the Apocalypse Warlord 6×6 looks like a must-have for your garage or general doomsday preparation, the truck starts at a whopping $250,000. Compared to the similar Ram TRX-based, Hellephant-swapped, Hennessey Mammoth 6×6 that starts at $500,000, a quarter million doesn’t sound too bad. We might even get to see some other companies try their hand at a three-axle Ram TRX as the 6×6 game continues to heat up. With that said, you watch live build feed directly from Apocalypse Manufacturing’s shop on their website.
