ELUMINATOR ELECTRIC CRATE MOTOR DEBUTS IN FORD F-100 AT 2021 SEMA SHOW

But You’re Gonna Need To Find Yourself Some Batteries

F-100 Eluminator

Ford is breaking boundaries by debuting an over-the-counter electric crate motor in a classic F-100 pickup truck at the 2021 SEMA Show, or at least an F-100-skinned Ford Mustang Mach-E GT. Called the Eluminator (pronounced “eeloominator”), this is available for purchase from Ford Performance online for $3,900. But… you appear to be on your own for the batteries. Which, as we’ve seen in previous concepts from Chevrolet, just don’t fit anywhere. But in the case of this special F-100, however, they’re nowhere to be seen.

The Truck:

Being part Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition, this Eluminator crate motor F-100 electric truck features an all-wheel drive system with two electric motors pushing out 480 horsepower and 634 lb-ft of torque. The truck itself was pieced together by Ford Performance with the help of McCue-Lane (MLe) Race Cars, who also lent a hand in building the electric Mustang Cobra Jet 1400.

Others involved in the build were superpower builders Roadster Shop, who custom built the chassis, as well as Brand X customs who assisted with the exterior look of the Avalanche Gray with Cerakote Copper accents.  The interior of the 1978 truck is the furthest thing from the time period it belongs as it sports a digital dash, an electric gear selector and a billet aluminum dash by JJR Fabrication on top of avocado-tanned leather upholstery by MDM Upholstery. The eye-catching wheels on the Eluminator crate motor swapped, all electric Ford F-100 are custom 19×10-inch billet aluminum three-piece by Forgeline.

By itself, the Eluminator Crate Motor in the electric Ford F-100 produces 281 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, and is available now at certain Ford Performance Parts dealers, or online. The Eluminator and is geared at those seeking a transverse-oriented powertrain to electrify a host of vehicles such as their vintage project cars or modded modern utility vehicles, trucks, coupes, and sedans, and is legal in all 50 states. Further down the line, Ford Performance plans on developing aftermarket add-on components for the Eluminator motor so as to provide an all electric aftermarket.

But you’re gonna need a battery pack.
