The Ford GT will be no more after this year. Be that as it may, it hasn’t stopped the automaker from pushing out a plethora of highly collectible special edition and heritage models for its final production run (702 to be exact). Today, the final third-generation Ford GT special edition has been revealed. The 2022 Ford GT LM gives a nod to its racing legacy that includes the famous 1-2-3 podium finish in 1966 as well as its more recent 2016 Le Mans win.
Customer deliveries are expected to begin this fall just before production closes out at the end of the year. Only 20 of the Ford GT LM special editions will be made, making it the rarest of the 10 different special editions being offered by Ford to close out the platform’s life cycle.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with any Ford GT Mk II bits that were expected.
Ford GT LM Details:
The carbon fiber body of the Ford GT LM Edition is covered in what Ford calls “Liquid Silver” and accented by your choice of blue or red tinted carbon fiber exterior trim pieces (front splitter, side sills, door sills, engine bay louvers, mirror stalks and rear diffuser). The blue and red color options are a tribute to the blue and red livery of the 2016 LeMans winning race car. Inside, you’ll find carbon fiber seats wrapped in Alcantara, the driver seat colored to match your chosen theme. Matching colored stitching and engine start button add to the subtle nod to its 2016 Le Mans winning cousin. 20-inch carbon fiber wheels come standard with corresponding colored inner barrel accents as well as titanium lug nuts and black Brembo brake calipers.
In addition, the interior of each 2022 Ford GT LM features a custom made instrument panel badge that is 3D-printed utilizing ground-down metal from the crankshaft of the 2016 third place No.69 Le Mans car. Also 3D-printed is the dual-exhaust which features a cyclonic design inside the tips giving subtle acknowledgment to the twin-turbo EcoBoost engine that provides 660 horsepower.
