The Ford Performance Bronco Severe Duty Steering Upgrade Kit boosts the off-road capability of the Bronco with an all-new, complete, ready-to-install Steering gear. The kit includes a higher torque motor, improved and reinforced steering gear casing from the Bronco Raptor, stronger inner tie rods with improved articulation, and reinforced outer tie rods with increased deflection ball joints. All of this comes together to significantly reduce steering efforts in various off-road conditions because you never know when you might have to send it, and it’s always good to have the confidence that you can do so over rugged terrain and still steer around obstacles at the same time.
The Ford Bronco Severe Duty Steering Upgrade kit requires the Ford Pro-Cal 4 to program and configure the steering gear. That could be a standalone purchase or include either the 2.7 Bronco or 2.3 Bronco Performance Tune from Ford Performance. The good news is that the kit and the requirements are available on all 2021-2024 2-Door Bronco models. As for the 2021-2024 4-Door Ford Bronco models, they must be equipped with the Sasquatch package for this kit to work; Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Black Diamond, and Badlands without the factory Sasquatch Package aren’t compatible. Finally, it is also compatible with the 2021-2022.5 Bronco Wildtrak.
As for pricing, the Bronco Severe Duty Steering Upgrade Kit comes in at $1,300, that’s not including the requirement of either the Performance calibration kit ($825) or the minimum requirement to complete the installation, the Pro-Cal 4 Calibration ($495). So, you’ll need to pay a minimum of $1,795 to install the steering upgrade onto your Bronco.
