When Dennis Kahler purchased a Georgia Lottery Corvette and Cash scratch-off ticket last month, we’re sure he spent some time daydreaming about taking a grand-prize 2021 C8 Corvette out for a drive. Kahler likely didn’t expect that he would win the sports car alongside $250,000, but that is exactly what happened. Well, sort of. The Drive reported Georgia Lottery officials never actually placed an order for a 2021 C8 Corvette with Chevrolet, massively underestimating the popularity of the new mid-engined car. Kahler’s struggle to find a dealership willing to sell him a C8 at sticker has been all over the internet this week, which has now resulted in a local dealership stepping in to help.
According to the folks over at CorvetteBlogger, Kahler will indeed be getting his prized 2021 C8 Corvette with some help from a local dealer. More specifically, Jim Ellis Chevrolet of Atlanta has offered their services. Corvette fans may recall that this dealership was one of the top 10 sellers during the 2020 model year, moving 131 units. The car in question is a Rapid Blue 2LT model complete with the Z51 package, which rings in at just about $80,000. The lottery had allotted a purchase price as high as $107,000, meaning Kahler will get to take home the extra cash alongside his $250,000 in winnings. A much happier ending than spending $10,000 of his winnings towards a marked up C8 Corvette on offer from other dealers in the area.

The pracitce of tacking huge market adjustments onto sought after vehicles isn’t new, but it certainly has been getting more annoying in recent years. That said, not every Chevrolet dealership is hoping to cash in on the C8 excitement. If you are truly in the market for a 2021 C8 Corvette and you don’t have a build slot, fairly priced examples are out there to be found. It might help your cause if you can manage to go viral, however. We hope you find your 2021 C8 Corvette quite enjoyable Mr. Kahler, and good on you for sticking to your guns.

Congratulations to him.
