FLORIDA DEALER DEMANDS FORD BRONCO SPORT BACK AFTER CUSTOMER TOOK DELIVERY

How Did This Ever Happen?

Everyone’s seen hilarious and hard to believe news stories that begin with, “Florida man,” but now, that same humor and strangeness can be applied to car dealerships as well. Late last year, a customer named Adam Sidoti bought a brand new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport from a Ford dealership in Tampa, only for the dealer to ask him to return it.

Sidoti told ABC Action News he loved the look of the Ford Bronco Sport, and he finally caved in and bought one on December 22. Just two days later, he received a call on December 24 asking him to bring the car back. This is after Sidoti payed the down payment and traded in his previous vehicle, a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta. Why would the dealer demand it back? They mistakenly sold him a demo car from Ford, and it wasn’t supposed to be sold for four months. Oops.

Unsurprisingly, Sidoti was upset. He has just purchased the vehicle and all the paperwork was finalized. To make matters worse, they had called and given a deadline to drop it off on Christmas Eve, not the day anyone wants to hear that kind of news.

Sidoti didn’t want to give up his Ford Bronco Sport, and we don’t blame him. The white exterior pairs well with the brown interior, and it’s the off-road focused Badlands model. So Sidoti decided to fight back, and he refused to return the vehicle and wrote a letter to the dealer manager. The dealership wasn’t  budging, so he contacted ABC Action News’ Jackie Callaway, who reached out to Ford themselves.

Here, Sidoti finally got some good news about his Ford Bronco Sport. Ford assured him that he could keep the vehicle, and it was the dealer’s mistake. After all, he isn’t responsible for the error in any way. Hopefully Sidoti can put this crazy Florida story behind him and enjoy his Bronco Sport.
