After a 10 year absence, the Jeep Wrangler Islander is returning for the 2021 lineup. Marked by its Hawaiian beach theme, it might just be the happiest Wrangler in the lineup. Based on the Wrangler Sport S, it brings a number of great features in one convenient package. It is available with either two or four doors, and the model is currently live on Jeep’s configurator. It’s luau time.

The most prominent option is the “Islander” logo on the hood, which includes the Tiki Bob decal. Also on the exterior are 17 inch silver wheels, which are wrapped in all season rubber. No all-terrain tires here, but the Islander does, however, benefit from the Rubicon’s rock rails.

Exterior color options include Billet Silver, Sting-Gray, Bright White, Granite Crystal, Firecracker Red, Hella-Yella, Snazzberry, Sarge, and Hydro Blue (late availability). A white hardtop is another unique Islander option.

Powertrain options are the familiar lineup of other Wrangler models: 2.0 liter four cylinder, 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 with or without the eTorque mild hybrid system, and the 3.0 liter EcoDiesel V6. The all-new Wrangler 4xe plug in hybrid is a standalone trim, not available on the Islander. Only the non-hybrid Pentastar V6 model is available with a six speed manual, all other engine choices require an eight speed automatic.

The interior also gets some nice touches for this special edition. The seats get surf blue accent stitching with an embossed seat center design and the Tiki Bob logo on the front seat backs. The dashboard is only available in ceramic white. Other standard features include dual zone climate control, and a 7 inch Uconnect touchscreen.

As with all Jeep Wrangler models, the Islander gets a plethora of optional extras. There are a number of hard and soft tops on offer, as well as a $995 Cold Weather Package, $945 LED lighting package, and $795 Advanced Safety Package. An Islander Plus package adds Front Grab Handles, Cargo Tub Liner, Grab-Handle Kit, Solid Sunbonnet Top, Rear Grab Handles, and best of all, a “Tiki Bob” Soft Spare-Tire Cover.

The Jeep Wrangler Islander is available for ordering now, starting at $33,190 for the two door and $36,690 for the four door Unlimited. The Islander is a happy and friendly special edition that’s not for everyone, but perfect for someone.
