It Might Just Be The Most Powerful ProCharged T1 Silverado Out There

Procharger’s centrifugal supercharger is one of many choices for people wanting to get more power out of their 2019+ Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra. Their system can boost power by up to 50 percent, and works surprisingly well with some mild tuning to the tricky ECU, thanks to aftermarket solutions. A video by Fasterproms shows just how effective the kit is for the pair of GM trucks. Although, this 2020 Chevrolet Silverado isn’t just Procharged, as it uses their full D-1X kit, which makes noticeably more power than the standard Procharger unit.

At the end of the install featured in a previous video, Fasterproms had put on the all-important D-1X Procharger, a methanol injector, new intercooler and all the necessary tubing. And, being 2020, it’s got the tune from HP Tuners that makes it function properly on the road. Finally, being a stage 2 kit, there are a set of exhaust headers allowing the engine to breath more freely and make the 6.2 liter V8 sing more clearly.

And as you can see in the video, the results are fairly dramatic. The Procharged 2020 Chevrolet Silverado makes an impressive 675 hp at the wheels, which translates to somewhere in the realm of  800 at the crank. The video claims this makes it the most powerful 2020 Silverado to date, and only the Hennessey Goliath 700 questions that, although it’s unclear if its 700 hp is measured at the wheels or the crank.

The transmission, however, could still use some ironing out. This particular Silverado has the 10 speed automatic, and HP Tuners have yet to put out a transmission tune for the 2020 version, which is said to have a different processor than the 2019 version. As a result, the shift points are slightly too early, and the full power band isn’t available. Fasterproms says they’ll install the transmission tune as soon as it becomes available, and then the truck should be good to go.

Whether this really is the most powerful 2020 Silverado out there or not, it’s a great all around street truck.
