Chevrolet Performance, the undisputed ruler of the crate engine and transmission market, is ramping up their offerings for the SEMA360 show next week. You’ll now be able to buy the 10 speed automatic that originally debuted in the sixth-gen Camaro ZL1 to drop in your desired build. It’s officially named the SuperMatic 10L90 10-speed automatic transmission, and its specifically designed to hook up to Gen V LT-family small block engines. Chevrolet isn’t telling us too much more about it just yet other than the information below:
Chevrolet Performance is introducing the latest in transmission technology to pair with the GEN V-design LT family of direct injected engines. The SuperMatic 10L90 10-speed automatic transmission includes a torque converter, along with the transmission controller and calibration required to allow it to communicate with the engine

While we don’t yet know how much the package is going to cost, it sounds like it’s giving you everything you need to make it easy to hook up to the engine. And given this is one of General Motors’ standout transmissions in their lineup, it makes a strong addition to the other crate gearboxes they offer.
The 10-speed automatic transmission was developed in collaboration with Ford Motor Company, and is currently found in a wide array of vehicles across their respective lineups. As of now, the 10L90 variant is only found in the Camaro ZL1, with other variations of the transmission can be found in GM and Ford’s body on frame full size trucks and SUVs, the Mustang and other Camaro variants, and will be found in the upcoming Ford Bronco. It’s one of the few times the Detroit Three have worked together on such a widely used component.
Stay tuned for our coverage of the SEMA360 show next week, as Chevrolet will likely announce more information about this transmission, and maybe even drop it in a build to show it off.
