If there’s anything fans think the 2021 Ford Bronco is missing, it’s a V8 engine under the hood, and Ford say’s they have no plans to put one there. Despite the V6’s best in class 310 hp, and more powerful iterations on the way like the Warthog, there’s really nothing that can beat the idea of a Coyote V8 Bronco. Luckily, Texas tuners Hennessey are answering the call, with the VelociRaptor V8 Bronco, complete with 750 hp.

To extract that power, Hennessey plans to fit a 3.0-liter supercharger system, plus upgraded injectors, fuel system and air-to-water intercooler. The stainless steel cat back exhaust should sound lovely with the doors and roof off. Sending power through the Bronco’s advanced 4×4 system is a 10 speed automatic transmission. All of this means a 4.5 second 0-60 run. That would be quite a fast horse.

Off-road performance plans to be improved through upgraded aluminum wheels, suspension and tires. Hennessey makes no mention of a lift, suspension type, wheel and tire size, or brands for any of these components.

Add it all up, and you’re looking at $225,000 before factoring in the costs of vehicle shipping. This outrageous cost is probably down to the tuning difficulties of the new Bronco, much like the C8 Corvette. In an interview with MC&T, Ford Bronco Program Manager Jeff Seaman said the complexity of the ECU and other electronic systems means aftermarket companies will need to work with Ford for access. With that in mind, HPE plans to integrate an entirely different ECU to go with the drivetrain swap.

On the outside, a new grille and hood with an intake will feed the supercharged Coyote V8, and it will have a new set of bumpers. It’ll also be adorned with a custom livery and Hennessey badges. Inside, your money is going to an upgraded, custom interior with yet more HPE branding.

The package is compatible with either the two or four door Bronco, and comes with a 3 year/36,000 Mile Limited Warranty. Only 24 will be made, yet again helping buyers swallow the cost. But $225,000 is $225,000, and there’s a lot of fantastic things on the market these days competing for those many dollars at the moment.
