Despite SEMA’s understandable move to an online format amidst globally rising Coronavirus cases, manufacturers are still prepping some crazy modified vehicles to debut next week. Jeep is no stranger to a vast accessories ecosystem, from both the aftermarket and FCA’s in house Mopar division. This year, they’re looking to show off how far Mopar can take the Jeep Gladiator, already a capable and desirable off-road truck. By the looks of this teaser, they’re taking it very, very far.
The single teaser just shows the rear of the truck, but there’s no missing the dramatic changes to the bed. It looks like Jeep has swapped to a flatbed setup, and put a large bedcap on top. Given the sides of the bed and the tailgate is removed, Jeep has fitted some new horizontal taillights at on the bumper. In some ways, it looks like a Dakar truck, just shrunk down to the Gladiator’s mid-size pickup form factor.
Of course, expect numerous off-road performance upgrades to be fitted to this Jeep Gladiator concept like wheels, tires, suspension and more to back up the extreme looks.

We don’t yet know what’s in the compartment over the flat bed, although we are willing to bet it’s some sort of bed camper. Overlanding is all the rage these days, and the details around the bed compartment also push this theory. First, there’s a cage over the cab to give more practicality and storage space. Next, you can see a glimpse of two mountain bikes on the roof. Finally, there’s a spare wheel and gas tank on the rear.
Overall, this paints the picture of a highly capable off-roader with a small sleeping and living compartment over a converted flatbed. It’s sure to look incredible, and show the ultimate expression of what Mopar can do to the Jeep Gladiator at . As per usual, it’s unlikely too many Gladiator owners will take their truck to this extreme, but the fact that they can is what matters. It also shows some accessories that customers may want to purchase a la carte. We can’t wait to see the final product next week.
