JEEP GLADIATOR GETS MOPAR TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER

Yet Another Great Factory Backed Accessory

The Jeep Gladiator brought the added functionality of a truck bed and great towing capability to the Jeep lineup, while retaining the legendary fun-factor and off-road performance the brand is known for. The max towing figures of 1,700 lbs payload and 7,650 lbs towing with the right boxes ticked are impressive enough on their own, but FCA is giving yet more added features with the Mopar trailer brake controller.

This controller allows Gladiator owners to activate the electronic brakes on their trailer, if equipped. By using this feature, drivers can have increased braking performance when towing heavy loads, and decrease additional wear on the truck and trailer. By braking the trailer independently, it can also help moderate speed on downhill grades. Braking force can also be increased or decreased along a ten point scale depending on the circumstances.

Best of all, the controller integrates directly into the Gladiator’s dashboard. This means you won’t have some tacked on controller that looks aftermarket, but instead have something that looks like it was straight out of the factory.

The tailer brake controller can be purchased as a standalone part in the US and Canada for $299, and works with both new Gladiators and vehicles already on the road. It also joins over 500 factory backed accessories from Mopar that have a 2 year warranty or warranty running to the end of the vehicle’s.

For anyone using their Jeep Gladiator for towing, this accessory seems like a no brainer. It’ll allow customers to have less wear on their vehicle and trailer, while delivering a safer experience behind the wheel. It’s also a reasonable price, has a great warranty and looks OEM with its direct dashboard bolt in. It would make a great addition to the Jeep Gladiator 80th Anniversary edition, or Willys models that are new for the 2021 lineup.
