With the debut of the 14th-gen F-150 nearly upon us, the folks over at Ram have seemingly not wanted us to forget their own upcoming project. According to a new teaser video posted to the company’s Facebook page, the off-road focused 2021 Ram Rebel TRX is slated to make its official debut before the end of the summer.
The new teaser video doesn’t show us much, as it is only nine seconds long. We don’t get to see the truck per say, but rather the results of the TRX spinning its wheels in the desert sand. The plume of dust is however accompanied by a TRX logo and a glorious V8 soundtrack, something that its Ford rival is severely lacking. It isn’t just any Hemi that we’re hearing either, but rather the 6.2L supercharged Hellcat V8, which is capable of delivering over 700 horsepower. In the 4×4 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, the engine delivers a stout 707 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque, figures we expect that the Rebel TRX will match.
It’ll take more than a powerful engine to rival the F-150 Raptor‘s capabilities off-road, but let’s not forget there is a reason Ram went with the name of the king of the cretaceous period.
The 2021 Rebel TRX is expected to arrive with a trick suspension system and some tech of its own in order to deliver class-leading performance. They’ve even gone so far as to put a size-related joke inside the truck’s cabin, aimed directly at the Ford Truck.
There is also a link attached to the Facebook post that allows fans and potential buyers to the TRX page on Ram’s website, should you wish to keep up to date on the off-roading model. Thankful we now know that we won’t have to wait too much longer for this highly anticipated pickup.
