After more than a decade without a true opponent in its segment, the Ford F-150 Raptor is being put on notice. Ever since the concept vehicle debuted in 2016, truck faithful have waited for the Ram Rebel TRX to square up against its fellow dinosaur-derived pickup truck. As we approach the debut of the Hellcat-powered super truck, we’ve started to see more details leak out. True to FCA fashion, it appears the Ram Rebel TRX is packing a pretty cheeky easter egg inside the cabin.

FCA is not shying away from the fact that the Ram Rebel TRX is gunning for the king of the F-150 lineup. TFL Offroad have just published a series of leaked images showing us some glimpses of the TRX’s interior, including a hidden dig aimed at the Raptor. Inside of a small storage compartment there is a graphic depicting the truck beside a T-Rex, as the large dinosaur chases after a much more feeble looking velociraptor. Furthermore, the depictions of the dinosaurs have even been drawn up to scale, with the Rebel TRX acting as a point of reference.

While the two species never roamed the Earth at the same time, the message is clear. The Ram Rebel TRX is here to hunt down the Ford Raptor, with the ferocity of an apex predator. That isn’t to say that the new Ram truck doesn’t have its work cut out for it. The Raptor has cemented its position as the ultimate dune running truck, thanks in no small part to its trick suspension setup bolstered by Fox Racing shocks. The TRX is surely going to be heavier than the F-150, perhaps positioning the truck for more serious trail duty.

While we really won’t know how the two trucks compare until we can get them side by side, the excitement is continuing to grow. Competition in the off-road truck segment can only make the Raptor better, and its about time we get the Hellcat truck we all deserve.
