The Woodward Dream Cruise is the ultimate destination if you’re into all things classic automobiles, hotrods, and muscle cars. The event originally began in 1995 as a fundraiser and has morphed into the best automotive enthusiast experiences out there. The Woodward Dream Cruise attracts more than 1.5 million people and over 40,000 classic American cars from around the US and abroad. You can expect this year’s cruise to be an absolute spectacle. Last year’s festivities were canceled due to the global pandemic, but like they say, absence only makes the heart grow fonder. And like in 2019, Ford Motor Company will be the headline sponsor.
Ford Will Showcase Its New Vehicles
Ford is the largest sponsor of the Woodward Dream Cruise and will be exhibiting some vehicles from their new 2021 lineup. You’ll be able to see the 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT, the all-electric 2022 Ford F-150 Lighting, and the 2022 Ford Maverick hybrid truck. The new Ford Bronco will also be featured alongside its first-generation counterparts. This will be the 4th straight year that Ford has sponsored the event.
The Woodward Dream Cruise Is Pure Americana
Half the fun of the Dream Cruise is the road trip to metro Detroit. For the week prior to Saturday, August 21st, caravans classic American cars and trucks will be making their way to the Motor City. The official cruise will take place on none other than Woodward Avenue. Back then, the road was famous for its large number of dealerships and drive-in restaurants, making it the perfect place to cruise.
The Woodward Dream Cruise has inspired the creation of other similar events. Back to the Bricks takes place on the same day in Flint, Michigan and is also a celebration of classic American automotive culture. If you’re looking for some quintessential American nostalgia and a hearty summer road trip, Woodward Dream Cruise is the place to be. More details can be found on the official Dream Cruise website.
