While the performance, price, and appearance can obviously speak for itself, it’s also no secret that supply chain/pandemic related production issues have limited the production of the C8 Corvette Stingray. The limited availability of the mid-engined American sports car has made many consumers even hungrier to get their hands on a new Stingray, especially after General Motors had to cancel all remaining 2021 C8 Corvette allocations back in June. That said, the first batch of allocations for the 2022 Corvette Stingray coupe and convertible have been made available to Chevrolet dealers.
The C8 Corvette Allocation Model Is Getting A Change Up
The way dealers are being allocated 2022 C8 Corvette build slots is changing from the years prior. Instead of the number of individual allocations being based on the dealerships sales from the last three years, 2022 allocation will be based on rolling 12-month Corvette sales figures for each dealer. As confirmed by Corvette Action Center, this model is different from the rest of Chevrolet’s allocated vehicle groups which rely on an “Available Day’s Supply” methodology.
According to Corvette Blogger, who spoke to several Corvette dealers today, reported that some received more than they thought they would, while larger dealers got less than expected. In typical fashion, no dealers have confirmed exact numbers. With that said, we can still expect that the largest Corvette dealership in the world got their fair share. For clarification, these initial allocations only cover the first dealer order submission process (DOSP).

2022 Corvette Updates, Production Start Date, And Cautious Optimism
While it was initially reported that 2022 Corvette Stingray production would begin on (or around) September 6, the Corvette Action Center reported that Chevy is telling its dealers that production will begin the week of September 27th instead. It looks like Chevy is really taking their time and being careful this time around to avoid any potential backtracking with its customers.
Looking beyond 2022 Corvette Stingray allocation, we already know some key details about what the new model year has to offer. Unfortunately but expectedly, the 2022 Vettes are seeing a range-wide price hike alongside a special trio of new exterior color options. We also know that the new models come with an upgraded Active Fuel Management System and an updated fuel injection technology, as told by Chief Executive Engineer Tadge Juechter.
MC&T has recently covered that the new C8 Corvette Z06 will debut this fall after a long wait. And while you can’t order a car that still hasn’t officially come out (or can you?), now might be the perfect time to make friends down at the Corvette dealership.

i cancelled my order for the 2022 bad luck 1 engine rebuild and 1 new engine in my 2019 grand sport and louzy dealings with my Terrytown dealer left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. I might reorder once GM gets their act together.
The new Vettes are garish and tacky, Joseph. Everyone who doesn’t have bad taste knows that. We laugh at the guys in Vettes thinking they look cool.

I hope i have a great experience with my order .
People who like Corvettes are like the kids with the drooping pants and their underwear showing, clueless as to what bad taste it is.
You are really something

I have ordered a 2022 C8 corvette on Nov 26 of 2021. I can’t wait but my dealer said at time or build and deposit made. That i was on page 11 does anyone know what he meant by that
I don’t care what people say about the new vette . I think they are sharp and luxury sport cars. I can’t wait for mine to come in. But i guess ill have to.
