The entry-level Super Duty XLT trims have been the least expensive way for customers to still get access to the performance enhancements of the Tremor Off-Road Package. However, TFL Truck reports that the 2022 Ford Super Duty Tremor Off-road Package will only be available for Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims. Even though Ford recently received a fresh new supply of microchips last week, enabling them to finish a hoard of idled F-series trucks, it seems the shortage is still taking its toll on Ford’s production capabilities.
2022 Ford Super Super Duty Updates
While the 2022 Ford Super Duty lineup won’t see a complete design overhaul like the latest generation of the 2021 Ford F-150, it received plenty of new upgrades and can still be optioned with a host of additional packages, minus the Tremor Off-road.
For the first time, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can be accessed through the SYNC 3-capable 8.0-inch screen found in Super Duty XLT models. The Super Duty XLT trims can now also be optioned with the Black Appearance Package. This includes features like 6-inch angular running boards, 20-inch aluminum wheels, and front grille, all painted in Ebony Black.

What To Do If You Still Want A Ford Super Duty Tremor
If you still want off-road capabilities for your new Ford Super Duty XLT, it’s slim pickings compared to what’s offered with the Tremor Off-road Package. The Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT offers the FX4 Off-road Package instead. This comes with Ford’s Hill Descent Control, specially tuned shocks, transfer case, and fuel tank plates, and of course, a “FX4 Off-road” decal. For a heavy comparison, the Ford F-250 Super Duty Lariat Tremor comes with 35-inch off-road tires, unique springs for ride height increase, an electronically-locking rear differential, a front limited slip differential, performance shocks, low-profile running boards, Rock Crawl and Trail Control modes, and of course, a Tremor decal just to name a few.
Prospective 2022 Super Duty buyers looking for Tremor Off-road performance will have to spend a lot more cash to get what they desire. The 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT starts at $39,695, while the Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum models begin at $47,500, $57,500, and $66,000 respectively. Price hierarchies for the 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty XLT follow the same pattern. Production of the 2022 Super Duty lineup begins this summer at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant, which also builds the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator.
As the global semiconductor microchip continues forward, it’s unlikely that the cancelation of some trim levels and features will end here with the 2022 Ford Super Duty XLT Tremor. Or the F-150 Power Stroke diesel, for that matter. Stay tuned for more.
