Chevrolet has taken to auctioning off the first salable builds of the Corvette over the years, and the new Z06 is no different. As was the case with the 2020 Stingray, the 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 with VIN #001 is going up for auction at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, on January 29th. The 670 hp supercar is expected to fetch well into seven figures.
All of the proceeds earned from the first retail production 2023 Corvette Z06 will go towards the Operation Homefront nonprofit organization, which works to “build strong, stable, and secure military families so that they can thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.”
C8 Z06 #001 will be sold at approximately 8:30 PM, MT.
The winner will be able to fully configure their 2023 Corvette Z06 to their specifications, which consists of 12 available exterior colors, seven interior colors, and eight wheel options, equating to thousands and thousands of build combinations. The possibilities expand further with the selection of the the Z07 Performance Package, or hard-top convertible body style. The latter of which is a first for the Z06.
2023 C8 Corvette Z06: Details
The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 features the all-new 5.5-liter DOHC LT6 V8 engine, the highest horsepower naturally aspirated V8 engine ever to make it in a production vehicle. The flat-plane crankshaft enables drivers to push the tachometer to 8,600 rpm, which means the car has incredible breathing capacity. Altogether that creates 670 horsepower, which is more than enough to propel the vehicle to ludicrous speeds, running a 10-second quarter mile out of the box.
