FORD BRONCO RAPTOR, Z06 CONVERTIBLE AND MORE CROSSING THE BLOCK FOR CHARITY

Charity Cars Heading To Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach 2022 Auction

The sale of charity cars is a long-standing tradition at Barrett-Jackson auctions, and as of January 2022, more than $144 million has been raised for hundreds of organizations, large and small. One hundred percent of the sale of the vehicles goes directly to charitable organizations, with all auction fees waived. It looks like the 2022 Palm Beach Auction will get some great vehicles with worthy charities to support. Four donated vehicles, including a Ford Bronco Raptor and 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 convertible, will raise some big bucks for charity.

Chevrolet also has a long history of donating VIN 001 and first-production cars for charity at Barrett-Jackson. They’ll be bringing the highly anticipated 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 convertible to the 2022 Palm Beach Auction, featuring the all-new 5.5-liter LT6 engine designed to entice drivers to push the tachometer to 8,600 rpm, sending all 670 ponies to the tires. The winning bidder will get to select the car’s exterior and interior colors. In addition, the car is donated to support the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Named after the U.S. Supreme Court’s first African American justice, TMCF represents students attending historically black colleges and universities, medical schools, and law schools.

The next vehicle comes from the world-class George Shinn Collection, a 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake. This S197 GT500 is equipped with a Kenne Bell supercharger which increases power from 605 hp to 725 horses. The muscle car is then finished in Vapor Silver Metallic paint and features a fiberglass Ram air hood, carbon fiber front splitter, and side skirts. Carroll Shelby signed the black interior of this Super Snake, which is No. 309 of 500 built-in 2009. This mighty Super Snake will be sold to support Samaritan’s Purse for disaster relief and emergency medical care in Ukraine.

The fourth vehicle is a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited custom 6×6 pickup nicknamed “The Savage Bull.” This Wrangler was commissioned by Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame baseball player Andruw Jones. The 6×6 features a Hemi 392 V8 crate engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Jones signed the inner tailgate and used the truck to go to the stadium games. “The Savage Bull” will support Can’d Aid, an organization that evolved from disaster response into one that helps build thriving communities through water distribution; music, arts, and outdoor programs for underserved youth; and environmental protection.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
