The 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X has officially been revealed. We’ll just get down to what matters. 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires. A 3-inch lift. A high-output turbo engine punching out 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Underbody plating, underbody cameras, high clearance bumpers, next-generation Multimatic DSSV dampers, front and rear locking differentials, off-road performance digital displays, a stowable tailgate. Tons, and tons, and tons of innovations packed into the footprint of what can be considered a midsize truck. And the interior is quite nice, too. And if all of that doesn’t sound good enough, please divert your attention to the GMC Canyon AT4X Edition 1 you see before you.

For the Edition 1 trim, which will be built in “extremely limited” quantities, here’s what you get:
- Front- and rear-facing underbody cameras with a wash function
- Off-road front bumper with safari bar
- Front 30-inch Lumens off-road grille light bar
- ComeUp Winch
- 17-inch beadlock capable wheels
- Reconfigurable bed rail system
- Performance front skid plate
- Unique Edition 1 tailgate badge
Many of these add-ons, such as the winch-integrated bumper, will eventually be sold in the GMC Accessories portfolio. Below is a graphic showing the crucial off-road specs that every 2023 Canyon AT4X (and Edition 1) will possess:

The Edition 1 notwithstanding, the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X will sit atop the hierarchy of trim levels, surpassing even that of the luxurious 2023 GMC Canyon Denali. Of course, this also means that all of this impressive kit will come at a premium. The price for the AT4X Edition 1 will come in at $63,350 USD. Which is, yes, pushing things to new pricing brackets from before, but when you consider that the larger Sierra AT4X is nearly $20,000 more, it kind of puts things into a value perspective. The new Canyon AT4X is scheduled to begin production in Spring 2023 in Wentzville, Missouri, while the rest of the lineup will start production just beforehand, in “early” 2023. And if you want the range-topping Edition 1, reservations are open now.
