If you want a “super truck,” there are a few competitive options. First up is the Ram 1500 TRX, which has a supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8 producing 702 horsepower. Then you have the newly released Ford F-150 Raptor R, which has 700 horsepower from a 5.2L Supercharged “Carnivore” V8. And for something very different, you have the 1,000 horsepower GMC Hummer EV. But from Chevrolet, there’s nothing quite on the same level when it comes to sheer power output. The Silverado 1500 ZR2 features the same 6.2L V8 as the rest of the family, after all. So, what to do if you’re a Chevy fan, with deep pockets, looking to settle the score with your neighbor that has a supercharged V8 Ford or Ram truck in the driveway? Specialty Vehicle Engineering may have just the thing. Say hello to the supercharged 2023 Yenko Silverado S/C, which offers 800 horsepower, and can be had in either lowered street performance truck or lifted off-road performance flavor.
2023 Yenko Silverado S/C: Details
The powerhouse engine and supercharger assembly on the 2023 Yenko Silverado delivers 700 HP (5.3L) and 800HP (6.2L) and represents the latest in state-of-the-art performance engine technology. It features a blueprinted aluminum block, race-quality computer-balanced rotating assembly, including a forged 1538MV twisted steel crankshaft and forged aluminum pistons. Upgraded cylinder heads and SVE’s high-output supercharger assembly. Considering the high levels of cybersecurity that involve encrypted control units that has otherwise forestalled the rest of the aftermarket from adding power to the updated Silverado, Specialty Vehicle Engineering has yet to reveal how they’ve done the deed.
The Yenko Silverado Off-Road will only be available on 2023 4WD crew cab and double cab LTZ, RST, ZR2, and LT trail boss Z71 models with a 10-speed transmission, short bed, or standard bed. The 2023 Yenko Silverado Lowered will only be available on either 2WD or 4WD Crew Cab and Double Cab LT, LTZ, RST and High Country trim levels with either the short Bed or standard Bed. The trucks are only available through authorized GM dealers. Only 50 of the 2023 Yenko Silverado Lowered and 50 of the 2023 Yenko Silverado Off-Road trucks will be built.
Like the other SVE creations, the 2023 Yenko Silverado Off-Road features a unique appearance that will get everyone’s attention. The aggressive 1/4 panel graphics and unique wheels make a dramatic statement, along with the custom 700 HP or 800 HP badges on the hood insert and tailgate, which announces how powerful this vehicle is. The unique hood insert is manufactured from OEM-quality high-impact composite material and comes standard in gloss-finished body color with flat black louvers. In addition, the redesigned GM hood insert on LT Trail Boss and ZR2 models got a body color paint treatment with a flat black center inset and louvers.
