A new Batman trailer has dropped and we’ve got a silhouette of the Batmobile that takes on an eerie look of an old school muscle car. We also catch a glimpse of Bruce Wayne’s chosen daily driver as well and it appears he likes the classic shape of the C2 Corvette.

Robert Pattinson is reinvigorating Batman in “The Batman” set to release March 4th, 2022. In a recently released trailer (located below), we witness the Batmobile in action albeit the majority of the trailer does focus on the characters themselves.

Regardless, the vehicle Batman uses to protect Gotham is always a centerpiece of the movie, it makes sense for it to be front and center of the trailer as well. All of the Batmobile action resides in the first 30-seconds or so of the trailer showing the vehicle blasting its way down city streets and spewing fire out of its singular tailpipe. We also catch a glimpse of Bruce Wayne’s daily driver, a solid black C2 corvette.

The Batmobile features a massive mid-engine V8 of some kind that is semi exposed and showcases a sizable singular rear exhaust, and yes, it spits flames. Our first glimpse of the car came in 2020 when director Matt Reeves shared via Twitter a couple of up close exterior pictures of the machine. Car and Driver argued that the front fascia resembles that of a 1969 Dodge Charger muscle car. While there may be an argument for that, the headlights and their assembly closely resemble that of a 1960’s Corvette.Could it be a mix of multiple classics? It sure seems that way.

The Batman movie was originally set for a release date in the summer of 2021 but was pushed back due to pandemic woes. That rules out the flat-plane crank 5.5 liter V8 LT6 found in the 2023 Corvette Z06 that debuted in October of 2021. It wouldn’t be too surprising to find a Chevy engine powering the batmobile though. In Christan Bale’s trilogy, the Batmobile was powered by a Chevy 5.7 liter V8 according to howstuffworks.com, and it’s common for Hollywood to use prop and stunt vehicles fitted with a Chevrolet Small Block V8 of some variety.
