It’s pretty well known that Chevrolet never created a ZR1 Colorado. This is unfortunate, as there’s a big fanbase for sports trucks. However, thanks to the creative minds of the aftermarket world and simply having the desire to create a truck that can be a daily driver and turn some heads at a drag strip, there is one Chevrolet Colorado ZR1 in existence, complete with a supercharger and plenty of modifications that boost power output towards 1000 horsepower and beyond.

Supercharged Chevrolet Colorado ZR1: Details

A video posted to the AutotopiaLA YouTube channel showcases what has become one of the coolest drag trucks we’ve seen in a while. A Chevrolet Colorado “ZR1” with an LS9 supercharger and some nitrous that can bump power past the 1000 horsepower mark. That alone is enough to get drag race lovers excited, especially when taking into account that not one but two nitro canisters are mounted in the back, just under the bed cover, so if you didn’t know any better, this would appear to be your average truck, minus the changes to the exterior.

Other modification to the Chevrolet Colorado includes all the proper suspension upgrades and traction control, which helps handle all the engine’s power without having the tires spin. Everything adds together to create a truck that can easily cruise through a road trip without any issues or uncomfortable situations. Meanwhile, if you want to, you can put your foot down and leave just about anyone with their jaws on the floor.

We highly recommend checking out the video below for yourselves to get the full walk-around of this spectacular truck build, complete with close-ups of all the components and even a test drive that helps put the impressive craftsmanship of this Chevrolet Colorado ZR1 build into perspective. What’s more exciting is that this is just the start of the many vehicles Izzy has, and it sounds like AutotopiaLA intends to cover even more of these fantastic creations in the future.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
