Air intakes can make a significant difference when car owners are trying to get a little bit more horsepower and torque out of their vehicle. It’s not an astounding increase, but a couple more horses running under the hood isn’t something anyone is about to complain about. Owners of the Chevrolet Camaro 2017-2022 ZL1 can now get a carbon fiber air intake from Corsa Performance to give their cars a bit more get-up.

The Corsa Performance Youtube channel has recently released a video showcasing their new air filter on the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, along with a display of how easy it is to install. First, remove the factory air intake and attach the new one. It has been engineered to fit flawlessly into the engine bay of the Camaro ZL1 and delivers an unparalleled aesthetic along with an enhanced whine from the supercharger. Corsa Performance made a similar air intake for the Dodge Hellcat, which increased power output by 20 horsepower and 28 lb-ft of torque according to the dyno test without any tuning.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 comes stock with a 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8 that produces 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque in this application. If the numbers seen from the Dodge Hellcat with the Corsa Performance air intake are anything to go by, power output could be increased up to 670 horsepower and 678 lb-ft of torque which is pretty impressive. But, of course, those numbers will vary depending on the altitude as the air thins, the power output will decrease.

The Chevrolet Camaro sits as a blank canvas for the aftermarket, unlike the C8 Corvette, which has cybersecurity that makes it significantly difficult to tune the engine. Nevertheless, owners of the Camaro have the means to extract 700, 800, 900, or even over 1,000 horsepower from the LT4 engine if they are willing to spend the money to do so. So if you’re in the market for buying a Camaro and modifying it, you better get one while you can.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
