The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is already a monstrous performance vehicle. With 650 horsepower, sticky tires and trick aero, it’s an incredible all around performer. But in the world of 760 horsepower Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupes and 797 horsepower Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeyes, it’s understandable that some people are looking for a little more performance. But Hennessey Performance Engineering have taken the Camaro ZL1 1LE beyond, “a little more performance” with the Resurrection, which has almost double the power of the standard car. And after a 20 unit run, they’ve just finished production on one of the most insane street legal muscle cars ever made.

Hennessey’s Camaro ZL1 1LE is called the Resurrection because all 20 vehicles actually started life as a 1,000 horsepower Hennessey Camaro ZL1 Exorcist. Owners who chose to upgrade to Resurrection package actually got an entirely new engine, an upgraded LT5 from the C7 Corvette ZR1, with the new heart a symbolizing the new name.

From here, the team fits a flow air induction system, 112-mm CNC billet throttle body and strengthened camshaft, pushrods, and valvetrain. The factory 2.65-liter supercharger and cylinder heads remain, but are are CNC ported and attached to an upgraded pulley. An ECU tune, new exhaust system and beefed up fuel system complete the engine mods. In the case of this specific model, which is a six-speed manual, the clutch is upgraded to handle the wild power under the hood.

Hennessey says the upgrades let the Camaro ZL1 1LE Resurrection hit 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and complete the quarter mile in 9.3-second quarter mile at 150 mph. We suspect those numbers are significantly traction limited.

This final vehicle is surprisingly subtle at first glance, painted in Shadow Gray with black decals. Once it starts up and accelerates, however, this thing is far from under the radar. Check out the video below to see this special car’s build process, and get a feel for its rapid acceleration in action.

While the Hennessey Performance Engineering Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Resurrection has come to an end, the Exorcist is still available for $120,000 if you can settle for just 1,000 horsepower.

The Hennessey Camaro Resurrection debuted during the 2019 SEMA Show, a few years after the Exorcist, and also after the Texas tuning company began offering packages for the Dodge Demon. Offering over 1,000 horsepower, the Hennessey Demon was notably more powerful than the Camaro package that was built to expel it. Hennessey asks at least $200,000 for every Chevrolet Camaro Resurrection package, which includes the price of the factory Camaro ZL1 1LE needed to make it.
